'10 Steps to a Lower Cost Business'
The Melbourne Chapter has an exciting presentation planned for March 15th.
Venue: Engineers Australia, 21 Bedford St, North Melbourne.
Time: 5:30pm for 6pm start.
March 15th : “10 Steps to a Lower Cost Business” - Presentation by Phillip Slater, Initiate Action, Author of Sustainable Inventory Reduction and Sustainable Cost Reduction.
This presentation explores why cost reduction initiatives for many companies fail and do not deliver sustainable results. It then proposes a change to the plan-do-check-act cycle that has been the main model used for continuous improvement for many years. Limitations to this model are proposed and a new 'Operations Improvement Cycle' has been developed that expands on the original. This approach is based on Philip’s experience working in industry as both a maintenance engineer and production manager and the presentation includes examples from his personal experience in manufacturing and maintenance roles. As a result of attending this presentation the audience will gain a fresh insight into achieving sustainable cost reductions and eliminating the 'slash and burn' approach forever.
