MESA Sydney Chapter Meeting - March 23rd
MESA Sydney Chapter meeting will be held on 23 March 06 commencing at 6:00pm. The meeting will be held at Energy Australia's head office building, 570 George Street Sydney, in Room 403. Please use the Bathurst Street entrance.
The topic for the meeting is Introducing New Maintenance Practices – Change Management
Introducing new maintenance practices and systems into an organisation represents a significant challenge, and needs to be managed well to ensure a successful implementation. Gaining commitment of senior management to proceed through to staff acceptance of the implementation are critical success factors. This evening’s presentations come from two speakers who have been involved in delivery new maintenance systems into large organisations
which have been past recipients of the Australian Maintenance Engineering Excellence Awards.
What approaches did they employ? What worked well, what problems were encountered, how were they managed and what would they do differently next time? Our guest speakers are John Hardwick from Energy Australia and Terry Howard from Railcorp. John Hardwick is the Manager Operations Investment at Energy Australia, and is a past
recipient of the MESA Steve Maxwell leadership Award. John has extensive practical experience in developing and implementing asset strategies for electrical assets, including introducing new FMECA/RCM based maintenance strategies across EA. John is also currently heading the technical stream in a SAP PM implementation in energy Australia. Terry Howard is the Project Director and Technical Manager in the Engineering Systems section of Strategic Asset Management Division at Railcorp, and was part of the City Engineering team that won the inaugural Australian Maintenance Engineering Excellence Award. Terry has many years experience as a maintenance practitioner, as well as in the development and implementation of asset management software tools.
